Professor of Materials Science Engineering & leader in the nanotechnology efforts of UVA, Robert Hull delivers a detailed talk about the varying strengths and opportunities possible for engineers working industry, versus national labs, versus a career in academia.

with Guest Speakers Kathy Thornton (Assoc. Dean, SEAS Graduate School Admissions) and Hilary Bart-Smith (Professor, Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering) .
Kathy Thornton, Dean of Graduate Admission for Engineering, offered insights into the world of graduate school.
Kathy and Prof. Hilary Bart-Smith frequently work together in reviewing applications to the UVA School of Engineering, and teamed up to answer in-depth questions about the process.
Following the discussion of graduate admissions, Hilary elaborated on the dialog of "A Life in Research," begun by
Prof. Hull the week before.
