MSE 791: Nanoscale Control of Thin Films and Surfaces

Goals of Course: To explore the fundamental atomic-scale processes governing nucleation, growth and assembly on surfaces, and to examine how such control may lead to new applications. Emphasis will be on epitaxial growth processes, especially GeSi/Si, but sufficient breadth will be given to prepare the student for application of this knowledge in any sysem. Course is team taught by MRSEC faculty, each member focusing on their specific areas of expertise.
